Responsibilities:
The US Waffle Maintenance Planner/Coordinator's primary role is to improve workforce productivity and work quality by eliminating in advance potential delays and obstacles.
The position is responsible for the planning and scheduling of all maintenance work performed in the plant.
This role also maintains liaison and coordination between the operations and maintenance organizations.
The main contact and liaison person between the maintenance department and other plant departments.
Ensures that the plant receives prompt, efficient, and quality service from the maintenance department.
Plan future maintenance work, to reduce potential delays and maximize maintenance workforce efficiency.
o The Maintenance Planner is a critical role within the Maintenance organization that identifies, collects, organizes, and documents work order job steps with operations (i.
e.
- tasks), resources, tools and materials required to safely and effectively execute a maintenance scope of work to improve equipment availability and improve maintenance efficiency.
o Be an advocate for safety, ensuring safety is part of planning and execution of work.
o Able to work extended hours, available for overtime and weekend work as required.
o Estimate jobs showing sequence of steps, the number of tradespersons, and required labor hours for each step.
o The Maintenance Planner will be the primary resource owner and maintainer for the CMMS system at the facility.
o The Maintenance Planner facilitates maintenance productivity (ability to schedule effectively, quality of workmanship, utilization of labor, materials, and services) to ensure safe and quality work execution occur through clear job plan development that utilizes current knowledge/documentation and improves documentation for future use.
o This Maintenance Planner is the liaison between maintenance, engineering & operations for identifying and correcting maintenance processes, assuring all maintenance work is planned, scheduled, and completed.
o Identify and implement improvements in the planning process that will reduce annual maintenance costs.
o The Maintenance Planner position is responsible for assisting with the development of reliability-based maintenance strategy, based on preventive and predictive maintenance.
o The Maintenance Planner will work directly with the Maintenance Manager to build a reliable maintenance team.
o The Maintenance Planner will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks.
o Perform related duties as assigned by the manager.
o Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
o Reviews and screens each work order, to ensure that it is properly filled out and work requested is needed.
o Provide emergency/unscheduled and scheduled repairs on production equipment during production and during scheduled downtime.
o Capturing and recording necessary equipment and material history o Maintaining close contact with Maintenance Manager to ensure maintenance activities occur with minimal disruption to production operations.
o Administer maintenance shift scheduling, work order backlog, and recommend planning for scheduled downtime work, including scheduling availability of parts.
o All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.
o Schedule full day of work (Work Orders or PMs) to each technician to maximize labor usage.
o Maintain equipment records in CMMS.
o Setup and maintain all predictive and preventative maintenance plans in CMMS to maximize equipment reliability.
o Determine the most effective method/tool to conduct preventative and predictive maintenance checks based on equipment criticality.
o Setup detailed PM plan in CMMS for new equipment, including frequency, mechanic tasks, parts needs, tools needed, safety procedures.
o Audit PMs to ensure work is being completed to maintain equipment reliability and comply with regulations and audits.
o Seek input from maintenance Manager to continually improve and adjust PM plans based on equipment and part performance/failure.
o Monitor and analyze part failure data (along with the maintenance manager) to detect trends (good or bad) o Plan and Schedule Corrective work to maximize crew utilization and effectiveness.
o Reviews work requests, collaborates with requestor, and creates the Work Order o Coordinates weekly scheduling of maintenance plans.
o Develop standard work order plans for regularly recurring repair jobs, to simplify the planning process.
o Responsible for ordering parts when necessary.
o Procures required outside services, as needed.
o Monitor effectiveness of the preventive and predictive maintenance program to minimize plant breakdowns.
o Plans the work, including estimated labor by craft (Mech, Elect), and special equipment or permits needed.
o Identifies and reserves parts (or creates purchase requisitions) for parts and services.
o Prepares job plans and work order packets for mechanics.
o Maintains a task list library for reuse.
o Co-ordinates with production and sanitation to plan weekend work (while minimizing scheduled overtime) o The Planner position requires hands-on maintenance experience.
o Develop work plans based upon work request and field inspections.
Work plans are to indicate the scope of what work is to be done and identify critical resources required.
o Identify and obtain materials (kits as appropriate), entering material needs on the work order.
o Maintains backlog files of work orders waiting scheduling.
o Verifies availability of parts, materials, and special tools required for execution before scheduling.
o Follows up and reviews the completed schedules and work orders.
o Responsible for building a well-trained team which is passionate about safety, quality, efficiency, and company success.
o Meet or exceed company expectations for production performance to maximize sales.
o Properly utilize labor resources to improve efficiency, minimize labor expenses and reduce waste.

o Education / Qualifications o High School Degree or Equivalent o 5 Years Industrial Maintenance Experience, Electrical/Mechanical.
o Planning/Coordinating experience in industrial maintenance o Reliability centered maintenance background.
o Proficient with Microsoft Office.
o Previous experience with a CMMS.
o Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
o Strong ability to plan work while being flexible to changes in scheduling needs.

This position is responsible for ensuring that food safety is not compromised while meeting the requirements of the SQF Food Safety Code for Manufacturing and are responsible to report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
o Physical and Safety Requirements:
o Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
o Complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and all other food safety requirements.
o Complies with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE's) requirements.
o Reports any food safety problems or potentially unsafe practices/conditions to lead or supervisor.
o Constant walking and standing on hard concrete service.
o Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, lifting, and climbing.
o Position will require working in very hot and cold conditions.
