Roller Operator
Job Summary
Requires the operation of self-propelled steel- wheeled, rubber-tired, vibrator, segmented or other type roller to compact earth, sub-grade and asphalt surfaces in the construction of highways and streets
The job requirements are to distribute, break down and compact cooling asphalt.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Drives machine in successive overlapping passes over surfaces to be compacted, rolling subgrade and asphalt to desired compaction and smoothness.
Determines speed and direction of machine based on knowledge of compressibility of material under changing temperatures.
Operate plate tamper to compact areas not accessible by a roller.
Ability to perform some manual labor or other essential duties related to asphalt paving.
Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies.

Pay Scale:
$10.00-$12.00 hourly based on experience
